Energy & Environmental Justice Initiative: Michigan Clean Cities is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion – taking actions to incorporate internal policies and external activities to center equity in our operations and our work.
Michigan Clean Cities staff have all completed the Intro to Compassionate Listening 4-week training series and full-time staff are participating in the Toward Equity in Electric Mobility Community of Practice and the US DOE Clean Cities Energy & Environmental Justice Initiative capacity building workshop series. Team members have also completed the Groundwater Training through Racial Equity Institute. Operational policies include use of inclusive pronoun usage in job descriptions In late 2022, Michigan Clean Cities will add the position of Community Engagement Liaison to more fully integrate the practice of “accompaniment” into our clean transportation activities growing our connection to community-based priorities.
